Day 1: Journey from antiquity to today, understanding the evolution of jewellery against the backdrop of historical and cultural shifts.

Days 2 & 3: Explore jewellery design through the ages, examining how societal changes influence artistic and technical developments.

Day 4: Decode the language of hallmarks and maker’s marks under the microscope, uncovering their importance in dating and valuing pieces from the Middle Ages to the present.

Day 5: Delve into the Gübelin legacy, learning how this iconic house shaped modern jewellery with its innovative designs.

About the instructor: Céline Rose David is a graduate gemmologist with a PhD in jewellery history, recognised as an appraiser by Canadian authorities and as a legal expert/appraiser in Belgium. Throughout her career, she has delved into the archives of various important museums, gaining extensive knowledge in jewellery history, which establishes her as an expert in the field. Currently, she teaches at the Montreal School of Gemmology, is the Scientific Director at the Montreal Appraisal Centre for Gemstones and Jewels, and holds the position of “Director of Expertises” on the "Les Héritières" C2C platform in France. Additionally, Céline is a trusted expert for numerous auction houses in Belgium and France. She is committed to promoting sustainable gemstone and diamond mining and volunteers at Diamonds for Peace.
