MOVADO

Synonymous with artistry, innovation and craftsmanship, Movado has been dedicated to pushing the boundaries of modern design and elevating the art of fine watchmaking to a fine art form since our founding in Switzerland in 1881. Over the past 134 years, Movado has been a brand in motion – always changing, always innovating, always moving forward. This quest for innovation has made us one of the world’s premier watchmakers with more than 100 patents and 200 international awards for watch design and time technology.

With a proud heritage of Swiss craftsmanship, design excellence, and technological innovation, Movado continues innovating into the future.

For those with a minimalist, modern and individual style.

A circle. A dot. A line.

Time reduced to its essence. Now a signature of the Movado brand, the single dot watch dial was inspired by the sun at high noon. Its creator, artist Nathan George Horwitt, set out to distill the very concept of time: “We do not know time as a number sequence, but by the position of the sun as the earth rotates.” Hence, the solitary dot at 12 symbolizing the sun at high noon, the moving hands suggesting the movement of the earth. Horwitt’s original design became the first watch dial ever accepted by the Museum of Modern Art into its permanent collection. Today the iconic Museum Dial and new explorations of it distinguish a wide collection of fine movado watch designs.
