“Maison de la Rose”
capsule collection
The “Maison de la Rose” capsule collection is inspired by Gübelin’s Geneva boutique located at Rue du Rhône 60. Since 1944, Gübelin has been based this emblematic building – also known as Maison de la Rose. This Geneva capsule collection is a homage to the Gübelin boutique, which has recently reopened.
Gübelin’s jewellery designers drew inspiration from a delicate detail of the ornamental frieze that frames the portal of the Geneva boutique. This elegant motif was reimagined to create a distinctive Geneva capsule collection that includes earrings, rings and necklaces. “Maison de la Rose” showcases highly sought-after Crimson Red rubies or vibrant tourmalines in a variety of striking colours. Alongside the high jewellery with Mozambican rubies, the tourmaline version offers even more options at attractive price points. No matter which gemstones you choose, each piece of jewellery is handcrafted in rose gold, accented with diamonds and, of course, features the iconic Gübelin ruby.
Gübelin boutique on
Rue du Rhône
The impressive building at Rue du Rhône 60 is a historic structure in the heart of Geneva’s luxury quarter and serves as a boutique for Gübelin, reflecting both the heritage of the House as well as the deep connection of the city of Geneva to watches and jewellery.
Raphael Gübelin, President, who is leading the House of Gübelin in its sixth generation, explains: “‘Maison de la Rose’ is a tribute to the heritage of our Geneva boutique, which my great-grandfather opened more than 80 years ago. This Geneva capsule collection is inspired by a delicate architectural detail from the portal itself. We are launching these new jewellery pieces as we celebrate the reopening of our boutique on Rue du Rhône, where we have been based for decades.”
Crimson Red
rubies
For “Maison de la Rose”, Gübelin’s experienced gemstone buyers have sourced Crimson Red rubies from Mozambique, which are among the most beautiful, sought-after and valuable rubies in the world. Crimson Red is used to designate rubies that show no sign of treatment and are naturally striking with a homogeneous, saturated red. These highly transparent gemstones contain no inclusions visible to the naked eye. They exhibit a weak to moderate fluorescence when exposed to UV-light. It is only the degree of fluorescence that distinguishes Crimson Red from Pigeon Blood Red rubies.
Colourful
tourmalines
As the House of Gübelin is known for its expertise in gemstones and celebrates colours, they have also chosen to feature tourmalines in “Maison de la Rose”. Tourmalines have one of the widest ranges of colour in the gem world. The Geneva capsule collection features vibrant tourmalines in striking green, blue and pink.
